An Indian in town

Kia ora

Wyndham is playing host to a day of motorbike racing today, 29 November, the Burt Munro Memorial Weekend has been held in Invercargill and Wyndham over the last few days and today is Wyndham's turn. The day began as quite a miserable looking one and has ended quite sunny and, although windy, quite a pleasant day after all.

Above photograph shows the Indian motorbike Burt Munro re-built, and rode. It was standing in a space off an area used as the pit.

Curiosity and The Catlins

Kia ora

Curio Bay, on the Southern Scenic Route, is a lovely place to spend a few hours on a fine day. A couple of seals were on the wander yesterday and two were checking out the visitors to the bay. Across the headland is another bay, Porpoise Bay, where the small Hector's Dolphins are often seen swimming amongst the bathers and kayakers.

Making Smiles on Faces Award

Kia ora

I have just been notified that the lovely Birgit, from swappinghowdies, has honoured me with an award for my blog. Thank you Birgit. My very first award and I'm so proud that my blog is able to make Birgit smile.

There are so many blogs out there that make me smile, so many that I pop into from time to time and Birgit's has always been one of those. I love reading about Birgit enjoying things to do in her homeland, Germany, it's so great to learn about another's culture and her photographs are exquisite.

Again, thank you, Birgit.
